Test Case Template

Here is a Test Case Template that I have designed to help my team in their software testing phase. This template is used in connection with Test Execution Sheet to help complete the process. In first phase, all Test Cases should be defined and planned. Once all functional points are declared and defined, test execution sheets are there to record test case execution.

In this Test Case Template, it has been divided into two portions. In first portion, project related information is entered such as Project ID, Test Case ID (any unique number), Project Title and Test Case Scope. It also includes criticality factor that defines if you are going to test a core or optional feature of software being tested.

The second portion of this Test Case Template is test details. It includes pre-conditions that must be met before this test is carried out. Task Description which defines a step by step procedures or actions to conduct this test. Once task instructions are completed, post-test conditions are recorded to match with expected results.
